Sayaka
Owner & Head Baker
Hello! I’m Sayaka, and welcome to my home bakery adventure.
I was born in Japan and moved to the U.S. at age 5. I grew up mostly in Western Washington, with some time on the Big Island of Hawai‘i. Cooking runs in my family on both sides—my dad owns a restaurant in NYC (Secchu Yokota), his father was a chef, and his grandfather once cooked for the Emperor of Japan. My mother and grandmother are also accomplished cooks, so I’ve been surrounded by great food and tradition all my life.
I’ve spent the past 17 years working in the food industry in many roles—dishwasher, hostess, busser, server, baker, barista, pantry cook, and manager. Now I’m finally stepping into the one role I haven’t held before: owner. This is my first food business venture, and I’m excited to share it with you.
I’ve chosen to focus exclusively on pies—partly because Central Washington is surrounded by amazing local fruit orchards, and partly because I truly enjoy the whole process of making them. There’s something special about sharing a freshly baked pie with family, friends, and the community.
I hope to see you at future pop-ups and farmers markets. Thanks for supporting my pie journey! 🥧
